Hakuba Snow Report: 2 January 2012

Happy New Year everyone.

Been getting some regular falls but, to be honest, cover is not as deep as usually could be expected at this time of year with some rocks and shrubs still poking through in places. All resorts are now open, although Minekata is reporting minimal cover as is Sanosaka. Cortina is the pick of the bunch at present – reporting a 2m base. Conditions on the hill are very variable alternating between hard pack, groomers, crud and the occasional patch of powder. Below is the ski patrol ripping it up at 47 today.
